Education and Experience

Dr. Young completed his pre-dental education at the University of California at Davis, graduating with the highest honors. He graduated from the University of California School of Dentistry at the top of his class of 108 and completed his Orthodontic Specialty program at UCSF. After completing his dental education, Dr. Young joined his father in private practice and was a part-time instructor at UCSF Department of Orthodontics for five years. He practiced with his dad until 1989 and it was a time of extraordinary professional and personal growth.
Advanced dental education and continuing to add to his knowledge of orthodontics is of the highest priority for Dr. Young. Each year, he exceeds the continuing education requirements and is recognized by Invisalign® as a Premier and Teen Provider. Dr. Young stays on the cutting edge of advances in orthodontics by collaborating in multidisplinary study clubs such as Frank Spear and using the most advanced types of braces, Invisalign and other appliances.
In addition to his commitment to outstanding patient care, Dr. Young equally enjoys giving back to the profession and community. He has served on all levels of the San Francisco Dental Society, including as President, and has served on faculty at UCSF. Additionally, he has served as a Delegate to the California Dental Association, as a Board Member of the California Society of Dentistry for Children, and with the Red Cross.
Dr. Young is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. Now, he is grateful to reside in Piedmont with his wife and two children. They enjoy travel, food, and outdoor activities.
